Two artists, three instruments

With this stylish line-up the Duo TschoppBovino has attracted great international interest in the course of its 15 years of existence, and acquired a repertoire whose large instrumental range reaches through all epochs up to the composers of today; alongside the popular standard pieces for violin or viola and piano, it includes countless arresting rarities, allowing for fascinating programmes that have thrilled lovers of exquisite chamber music.

In May 2016, the German label Genuin released the duo’s highly acclaimed recording of the violin and viola sonatas by Dmitri Shostakovich, which was also nominated for the International Classical Music Awards ICMA. "Reference recordings", "endlessly graded dynamics", "compelling dramaturgy", "complete mastery of the palette of dynamic and color nuances" and "concentrated eloquence and creative far-sightedness" are some of the catchphrases used by the specialized critique.

Since 2004 their joint concert activity has taken the duo to such important venues as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Rudolfinum Prague, the Philharmonie Ljubljana, to Vienna, Bratislava, The Hague, and various international festivals. Since its very first concerts, the Duo TschoppBovino has captivated audiences by its intelligent and exciting programmes - featuring works with violin as well as viola - , its perfect rapport, instrumental virtuosity and elegance.

Both artists are also independently active in concert as soloists and in chamber music, collaborating with internationally recognized artists and composers.
